Ash Code new single, “Nostalgia”
Italian darkwave pioneers Ash Code have unveiled their latest single, “Nostalgia,” accompanied by a hauntingly cinematic music video. The track marks the band’s first new music in over a year and signals what they describe as “a new single for a new beginning.”
Formed in 2014 in Naples, Ash Code is comprised of vocalist Alessandro Belluccio, keyboardist Claudia Nottebella, and bassist Adriano Belluccio. Their sound weaves together darkwave, post-punk, coldwave, and synthpop influences, characterized by brooding melodies, driving drum machines, and immersive layers of noise and distortion. From melancholic synths and relentless beats to arpeggiated riffs and atmospheric theatrics, Ash Code creates a sonic world that dances between light and shadow—melancholy and euphoria.
On the meaning behind “Nostalgia,” Alessandro Belluccio explains:
“The song serves as a reminder not to get stuck in nostalgia or cling to the idea that the past was better than what lies ahead. It’s a deeply personal message urging myself to break free from that mindset, to embrace the future with excitement and optimism.
